Third time reading, second time english. I run out of books - i have a few unread but i wasn't in the mood for those, so pulled this out. I was completely overwhelmed buy this book when i first read it a few years ago, in hungarian, and a lots of things become clear only when i read it again, that time in english. And of course it's so complicated plus english being not my native tongue, there are still plenty of subtle things to discover and see in a new light.
I also have the dvd - a hungarian version of that, again the subtle differences which can change the meaning... and the soundtrack, well, there are some pieces i just can't stand, at least one is missing, (a short piece after the space travel, when the ship hovers over the desert - short but beautiful); but most of them has a great atmosphere. I like to listen to the soundtrack while reading the book before going to sleep, and when the music runs out, i know that's really late now so i have to put down the book and get some sleep :)
The book isn't the happiest one and i was feeling pretty low for weeks, and this morning i just hit rock bottom. I had to get off from work after 20 minutes and try to pull myself together. At first i wanted to sit in my favourite starbukc's for a muffin-coffe breakfast and head straight home, but that's what i did for weeks so figured myabe i need some change. So i bought a chelsea bun at a bakery near the factory and headed down the seashore. There where much more people then i expected - ok, i expected 2-3 maybe, and there where dozens, all around... so picked a relatively solitary bench (dedicated to the memory of a fisherman), ate the cinnamon-sultana bun and read dune. It was sort of funny, reading about a desert with the cinnamon-like drug, eating that bun on the seashore... it was low tide so a few men where metal detecting in the mud and two of them wheere digging too. I wwonder if they ever found something...

52 könyv 52 hét alatt - 52 books in 52 weeks
I will not go for the number; i love to read but also love to knit and play and a lots of other things, so my main reading time is the one hour long luch break at my workplace. Usually it takes more then a week to finish a book at this pace and also like to have a day or two to reflect on what i've just read. I keep a handwritten book journal with very personal reflections but like to have a place for this important prt of my life on blog format too - less personal, more of a record-keeping :)
I read mainly in english - to expand my vocabulary - and sometimes hungarian, my native language too.
